london and scotland

Over Memorial Day week my husband, Jason, and I travelled abroad to Great Britain.  This was his 3rd time to London (1st time to Scotland) and my first time for both.  We had a great time!  Since we were travelling all around the island, we decided carryones was the way to go.  We needed to pack light to be able to easily carry/roll throughout the streets from train station to train station.  This plan worked out perfect for us (we didnt buy many souvenirs) but we did get some and were able to transport it all back with us.  The plus side to carryones while jumping from place to place is you have your luggage with you.  My fear was if one of our bags got lost and they needed a couple of days to get it to our hotel, we could have already been to our next destination by then.  Would recommend travelling light on a trip like this.  We flew into London (Heathrow) and stayed in London Saturday- Monday.  Monday we took the train (Virgin Train) to Edinburgh, where we stayed Monday-Thursday.  Thursday morning we took the train to Glasgow for the night.  Friday morning we took the train back to London and spent the day and night before flying out on Saturday.  We stayed at a Marriott Hotel at each destination and had a great experience at all 3.  Definitely a trip worth having!  If you are able to make the trip, check out some of our favorite spots below!
